The hospitality industry generally has been and still remains a mainstay of Bermuda's economic life. Butterworth Associates and Design Limited has had considerable experience in resort and hotel development, from cottage colonies to complex multi-use facilities.
Almost invariably, the work has been confined to improvements to existing facilities. New starts in the Hospitality sector are rare as the commercial viability of the industry has declined, not just in Bermuda but throughout the world. There are signs that this drought may end and new starts will feature again.
It is important that architectural organisations such as our own can demonstrate skills in the design of new hospitality ventures by showing some projects that were never built. These were exciting ventures and are shown in this web site in the Past Pleasures section.
